Review on πŸ”’ Dorman 095-147 AutoGrade Aluminum Oil Plug Gasket: Superior Seal & Durability! by Eric Jenkins

You may not have leaks but I'm

I'm the guy who posted the photos earlier. I have a 2006 Kia Optima (earlier version). As another reviewer said, the gasket should be indented to prevent leakage through the drain plug. He says he's added 30 pounds of torque. I don't use a torque wrench, just a small socket wrench that I put a hell of a lot of torque on, just enough that I just hope I didn't strip the threads in the process. I managed to get the plug squeaky again and if that doesn't stop the leak I expect to get something weaker (like a Dorman 65310) and play Little Dutch Boy while the assistant changes washing machines. I recommend taking 65310 and forgetting about 095-147, but you might have better luck (or be a better mechanic).

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
