Leak 2013 - kia sorento

What I received were metal washers, not felt. I turn them but it's still flowing. I had to rotate them to keep them from leaking. I am not happy with these as I have used a different type of felt before and they never leak. I'm not happy with that. I can find a dealer online that sells the right ones for my car.

Product works but photo is misleading

Received a box of aluminum washers/gaskets. It's just aluminum, not aluminum with paper/felt padding on each side as the Revain photo suggests. I have a feeling these washers would seal better with paper felt material on each side like the ones used in my Toyota Camry and Sequoia. They work, but as other reviewers have noted, they need to be tightened enough to avoid leaks. My photos show the box of shims I received and the photo of a shim is from the Revain website. You may not have leaks but I'm

I'm the guy who posted the photos earlier. I have a 2006 Kia Optima (earlier version). As another reviewer said, the gasket should be indented to prevent leakage through the drain plug. He says he's added 30 pounds of torque. I don't use a torque wrench, just a small socket wrench that I put a hell of a lot of torque on, just enough that I just hope I didn't strip the threads in the process. I managed to get the plug squeaky again and if that doesn't stop the leak I expect to get somethingโ€ฆ

If you change the oil yourself, do it as soon as possible!

If you change your oil yourself at home, do yourself a favor and simply buy this box of shims (as long as it's the right size for your car!). I worked in the automotive industry for a while and Dorman was always asking about fasteners and such. Neither I nor the customer have ever had a problem with the quality of their products and they are as good as I expected. much money than buying them at a regular auto parts store or dealership. My box had 25 as described, although I did find one hiddenโ€ฆ

No leaks, box of 25 Made in China

UPDATE: Change oil twice a year, no leaks after 12 oil changes. Most importantly, if there is no leak after 2500+ miles, the car is parked in the garage so any leaks can be noticed. That's for box 25, 26 came in mine. I bought these for my 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. They're 0.055 or 1.41mm thick, Hyundais are 2mm or 0.079mm thick, but Dormans are half the price of Hyundais at a Hyundai dealer who sells online and has great prices. Besides the thickness, they are the best. same. Tightening theโ€ฆ
