The specific configuration of this KVM is hard to find. Essentially, the two companies make 4-port dual-port DVI USB monitors with 2 DVI inputs for each port. StarTech's offering is the cheapest of the two at about half that, but it doesn't suffer in any way, except perhaps in form factor. A more expensive piece of equipment from another manufacturer can be rack mounted, but the basic rack compartment solved that problem and StarTech was still a lot cheaper. This is the fifth StarTech KVM I have owned in 15 years. This particular device replaced the PS2 version of the same configuration. I had no problems with any of the previous four units and two (just replaced and one unit with a different configuration) are still in daily use in our studio. The other two were still working when they were replaced and were selling for a higher price online due to the manufacturer's quality and reputation. So if you need a KVM that supports dual monitors from 4 clients, this is the one. do you want!
