Review on πŸ”Œ Front Left Window Regulator Replacement (TYC 660234) for Ford Econoline Van Power by Larry Blanco

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Short-lived - broke after two years of use.

After my window stopped working I found and bought this TYC 660234 window regulator from Revain. At first I thought it was well done. After a few years of use, I was convinced of the opposite. I'm assuming that something like this won't last longer than two years. To install it I first had to drill out the rivets from a previous installation on my 2004 Ford E250 Van. It wasn't a big deal, but the whole process of installing it, gathering my tools, and removing the old regulator took about 1.5 hours. So I installed this on the driver's side. It was slower than my original Ford (and the one on the passenger side) but I could live with that. Just after two years (26 months to be exact) the plastic parts broke and left the window down. I had to put a screw in the inner door frame to hold the window in place until I got a new replacement. Not good. I don't drive off-road, I drive my van less than 9,000 miles a year, and I live in a temperate area in San Diego, California, so I think it must have been years. It might be worth buying more expensive brands as I now have to go through the whole process of buying another, uninstalling and reinstalling, not to mention window downtime and additional costs.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
