I have a couple of recently purchased (March 2020) Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5 devices. Since I have wireless video surveillance apps that use the same band (2.4GHz), the Wi-Fi signal isn't the cleanest around the house, which affects the quality of Alexa video calls. Looking at the product description I thought it would be brilliant as I could connect directly to the ethernet for the best video call quality. This is an OTG dongle with MicroUSB, which means it uses the 5V power supply from the connected device to power the dongle itself. I bought three of these and tested all three with the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5. I've also tested them with Samsung microUSB tablets and phones. I can confirm that this device does not work with the Revain Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 8 (the devices will not turn on and the LEDs will not light up. However, they are not at fault as they will light up and work with Samsung tablets and phones successfully connecting to the ethernet. One star because the description specifically says it works with the echo show, which they don't. This is my main motivation for the purchase. I hope this helps others who are doing this specifically for the echo show want to buy.
