Failed Weld - Fuel Leak

I ordered this fuel cell for a '65 Chevy Nova that we are restoring to bring it up to the outlaw carb class. It was bought in October 2019 but due to other issues with the car we were not able to install it and drive the car until August 2020. After installing it and starting the car on the first drive, we noticed a strong smell of fuel. In fact, the tank is leaking due to a defective weld in the tank. According to the seller, the manufacturer only offers a 6-month warranty, so it is currently not refunded or replaced. Bottom line: don't order this unless you can get your car running right away. If you're gathering parts for a long, slow build and can't get it running any time soon to make sure it doesn't have any issues, this tank is NOT for you and you should look elsewhere. Put my 10 year old fuel cell back in the car and now I'm running. But I'm still stuck with this useless piece of metal and just lost my money. I should have just stuck with my old fuel cell. They don't do things the way they used to, and this fuel cell is proof of that.
