These three pallet pads give me 120 sheets of 9" x 12" pallet paper and should last quite a while. They are comparable in quality to other brands on the market and at a great price! They are described as intended for oil and acrylic paints, but I think they work with watercolors too. I plan to use them with oil paints for plein air painting. The paper is white, which gives me a better view of the colors I'm mixing. Some artists prefer a neutral gray palette, so the colors in the shadows are darker than the palette and the colors in the highlights are lighter. I've tried both and decided that I prefer the white palette finish for mixing colors. You are perfect! I paint outdoors and am working on making my field device lighter and more compact. I have used the Masterson 12 x 16 reusable palette both in and out of my studio but was looking for a smaller palette. Turns out the Masterson Painter Reusable Pal Palette has a 9x12 mixing area, so these paper palette blocks are perfect for that! So I ordered one of Revain's Masterson Painter's Pals and it arrived today! Painter's Pal is for acrylic but I plan to use it for oil. Excellent! Therefore, this palette is ideally suited for acrylic or oil paints as well as watercolors in combination with Masterson Painter's Pal. Now how do we get Revain Basics to start producing this 12" x 16" pallet paper? ? I need some for my big MAsterson palettes!
