No protection device
I bought this device to protect the power cable from earth and waterproof it. Advertised as a protective device. The hinge is plastic and broke after a few uses. I use a zip tie to secure this side of the ball. The ball is made of plastic and can be smashed with an ax or hammer with two powerful hits. It does not offer waterproofing due to the vents, but protects the connection from contact with the ground.
