Review on BigBlue Lightweight Waterproof Compatible Generators by Michael Skerving

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Gave me about 22w of power in full sun with multiple solar controllers

Thought it would be a good choice for highly mobile charging of my batteries and solar arrays. I have a Bioenno battery with a Buddipole Power Mini, a Bluetti 240, a few smaller devices from other manufacturers and an Omnicharge 20+. All devices have mpp solar controllers. I typically use 200w Bluti panels to charge many of these devices, but they're not the best for transporting to remote areas. I wanted to love this thing. It comes with multiple connectors to connect the 5.5 x 2.1 male to a range of devices. I really wanted this thing to work with the Omnicharge and Buddipole/Bioenno outdoor weight-relief combo. I've used them in several different setups over the past week or so and have never been able to get more than 20-22 watts out of the panels. This corresponds to an efficiency of about 36%. Not good. This is in full sun and at various angles and orientations on a balmy 70-80 degree day. I have other larger panels tested with the same devices at 75-80% efficiency. I can charge devices at 60W or reach 150+ W with a Bluetti charger. I'll try a few other options to see if I can find something better. It's a real shame because apart from the efficiency of this device, it meets most of my needs.
