From what I've read, this labeling was wrong for a while. One would think that they would solve this problem. This was the first time I've ridden a bike without a fish in over 25 years. I have always used old filters, rocks and other materials containing bacteria from other tanks to start the tanks. I've never had a problem in all these years. I always tested my water to make sure everything was fine, but adding ammonium to the tank and seeing how everything changes was a different matter entirely. Took 3 1/2 weeks, but so far so good. It's weird for me to do it like this, but let's see if I do it again. It just seemed so messy I was just trying to balance it.
