The dosage concentration on the label is incorrect.

This bottle contains ammonium chloride and will add ammonia to your tank to start/speed up your cycle (combined with good bacteria). The problem is that it's more concentrated than what the label says. The label says to use 4 drops per gallon to raise the ammonia to 2ppm. I dosed 4 drops per gallon and the ammonia level was 8 ppm. I would suggest starting with 1 drop per gallon and see where that gets your ammonia. Then increase the dose if necessary.

Works as intended but poor labeling

Product label does not match image here on Revain. It was stated that I would need 4 drops per gallon or 1ml per 20 gallons for 2ppm - these are NOT equivalent ratios (20 drops = 1ml). In fact, the correct dosage was 1 ml/20 gallons (or 1 drop/gallon as currently posted on Revain). Problems could have been avoided if the ammonia concentration had been stated on the bottle. If you don't have your own eyedropper, you can place 1/4 teaspoon (1.25mL) in a measuring cup, add water, and add your…

It worked, it just took a while, and the labeling was wrong

From what I've read, this labeling was wrong for a while. One would think that they would solve this problem. This was the first time I've ridden a bike without a fish in over 25 years. I have always used old filters, rocks and other materials containing bacteria from other tanks to start the tanks. I've never had a problem in all these years. I always tested my water to make sure everything was fine, but adding ammonium to the tank and seeing how everything changes was a different matter…

Excellent and powerful.

I used ammonia from the hardware store and it worked well. But that takes a lot more guesswork because you don't know the concentration of that ammonia or the size of the droplet per gallon of water. This product is strong, effective and does a good job of helping you get closer to more accurate readings. for a stress-free journey. Reason for deducting a star: It's hard to count the drops. When I first rotated the bottle to drip the ammonia into the tank, it should come out about 10 drops at a…

Ammonia Alternative to cycling without fish

Ammonium chloride is different from ammonia. Both can be used for fishless aquarium looping. This product works and can be used to drive/maintain an aquarium with no fish. Some things to look out for: The active ingredient in this product is ammonium chloride, which contains chloride ions. Chlorine is dangerous for living plants. If you have live plants in your aquarium you should exercise caution when using this product or use ammonia instead. This product is very strong and will only get…

Just what I needed to start my new tank cycle

We've visited all the pet stores in our area, all the supermarkets and pharmacies, but none had the ammonia we need to start our aquarium. So we decided to try the fish feeding method. I'm not a fan lol. I figured why not just order some ammonia online, yes we might have to wait a few days for it to get here but it would give me time to clean up all that smelly fish feed water and it would be a lot quicker and easier. long-term cranking our tank with ammonia instead of fish food. I got my…

Great - here's why.

So when I bought my 54 gallon tank. I didn't know much. LFS told me to buy this quick start API (good product) and some stress related stuff and all is good start adding fish. So I set up this tank, set the quickstart API and planted the plants - one melted and the others grew well, but after 3 days my tank took on a chalky appearance. So EHEIM filter system disassembled (great product), pre-filter rinsed and everything was clear. Maybe it was a rotting plant? Needless to say I had to remove…
