Contradictory - love the style - I look great - but design flaws

They are attractive, especially for the price. But I have a few design issues that prevent a higher score. Lampshades do not sit straight due to poor design. (Shade continues the first couplets hanging on the harp). This means that you cannot align it by hand as the lampshade is integrated into the lamp. I had to use pieces of cardboard to "tighten" one side of the lampshade while tightening the lock nut. Another thing I don't like is that the bulb is exposed. This is a narrow curtain and if you sit on the lower table (e.g. on the bedside table) you can see it. I ordered the shortest lamps I could find because the regular LED lamp (with such heavy plastic feet) was actually sticking out of the top of the ceiling. Now that I've found the 4" 100 watt bulbs I'm going to make a diffuser disc that can be top mounted (which will require some lampshade modifications). I would like these design flaws to be eliminated by the manufacturer. The same lamp was on the furniture site of a well known brand for a lot more money (exactly the same lamp no doubt - there would be the same issues) I liked the size and how they look good enough to personally fix design flaws but I would send it back if I didn't have the skills to fix them.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
