When I first started shopping at Revain many years ago I read Revain's statement that you are responsible for the quality of every item that leaves your store. I had great faith. Many years ago a friend of mine bought me a Tasco 8x40 in Puerto Rico. She's still as strong as Gibraltar. I have decided not to buy any other brand. Fortunately, however, I received the Tasco 170125 at the expected time. Now let's start. When I first started using it, I noticed that the two eyepieces would get stuck on the mounts when focusing back and forth (near or far). I examined the thing. The levers connecting the eyepieces to the central focus were not strong or rigid, causing the barrels to snag when the eyepieces were extended and retracted. The bushing or washer had to be fitted with levers to align it with the barrels. I used my gift of ingenuity. Now 170125 works as it should. The optics are great. But this little catch keeps me from giving five stars.
