Although I had to buy 10-12,000 BTUs due to the size of the room, which is only 6,000, this air conditioner works very well. Pay attention to the size of the room, especially if you have high ceilings. I would always go with a higher BTU. When it was Fahrenheit with high humidity in the mid 90's, it was a bit difficult to keep the freezing cold in a 20x17 room. However, most of the time it cooled the room perfectly, but with very little noise. I'll leave it at 24-7. Also very energy efficient. Highly recommended.
