Not as soft as I expected

This turtleneck fits well but is not as soft and comfortable as I expected after reading the ad. When I saw the picture it seemed much softer and easy to put on and take off, but my son didn't like the material and had a hard time putting it on. The color is darker than in the picture. I was not entirely satisfied with this product.
