Works, subject to change.

As advertised. Prevents the V-ribbed belt from slipping off a smooth pulley on which it is fitted. Note that it does NOT rotate with the pulley but is fixed. Also, when installing on a 1996 thru 2000 Caravan/Voyager minivan, the head of the included bolt is too high to allow for the removal of the GearWrench serpentine belt installation tool when installing on the idler pulley. However, you can remove the tool from the bolt head by loosening the two 15mm bolts holding the passenger side motor mount and using a pry bar to pry the drive train assembly towards the driver side to gain enough clearance to remove the tool from the bolt head. For those of you who have problems with belt slippage, have the idler assembly removed and inspected before purchasing. Look for steel corrosion on the back that may have caused the rust to come loose from the motor mount. Rust can even adhere to the aluminum surface of the mounting sleeve on the engine. If so, it must be removed before replacing or reinstalling the old tensioner assembly. Even a small amount of rust can tilt the tensioner assembly and cause it to become out of alignment with the rest of the motor assembly and idler pulleys. That was the case with my 1996 Voyager. I had to use a pneumatic needle scaler to remove rust from the engine mounting boss before installing the new tensioner assembly. A hammer and flathead screwdriver will also work, but much more slowly. Goodyear's new Gatorback belt lays the tracks much better than any previous belt without rocking back and forth on the pulley. In any case, I installed them on a smooth pulley for additional security.
