I guess you could use it as a costume but i use it has a dress
I would recommend i am a big girl 5.3ft and i weight 230 . I got an XL it almost too long it some occasions i would pick up my dress but over all i love how flowy it is . The reason i give it a 4 out of 5 is because i had to iron it but i really like the dress.
