If you've got something on hand, this is a great way to upgrade your speakers. To mount the adapters to the fairing you will need to cut off the two 1" stock screws that hold the factory speakers in place. The third screw works without modifications. Then all you need is standard sheet metal screws (or whatever you have) to attach the new speakers to the adapters. I installed JBL GTO629 6.5" speakers in a 2008 FHLTC and couldn't be happier.
