Review on Mokpi'S Nonstick Crepe Pan For Perfect Pancakes And Omelets - Ideal For Camping And Kitchen Use (8-Inch, Pink) by Jennifer Lee

Very Lightweight Pan, Heats Quickly, Good Nonstick Coating, Small Lip or Rim

This is a pretty decent nonstick pan for basic cooking. It is labeled as a crepe pan, and I can see why the low lip or rim would help when making crepes. I don't make crepes, yet I have found this to be a perfect little pan for the things I cook. This pan is very light and therefore heats quickly. Keep this in mind so that you do not overheat the pan when warming it up, as this would ruin the nonstick coating over time. I don't even turn my gas stove heat up to high when using this pan--the highest I'll go is Medium, and even then I don't hold the heat at Medium for long periods of time. The nonstick coating of this reminds me of that Gotham Steel stuff that you may have seen on TV. So far, it is doing its job well and is holding up. I use this pan daily, and the things I cook include scrambled eggs or fried eggs, frozen potstickers or wantons, chicken breast, ground chicken or ground beef, and some grilled vegetables or onions or garlic. Nothing at all sticks. I do my best to take care of the pan, so that certainly helps. I don't scrub it with anything abrasive, and there really is no need to since a soft sponge and some warm water always get everything off the cooking surface. I also am careful not to use metal utensils when cooking in this pan--definitely stick with silicone, wood, or something soft that won't damage and scrape away the nonstick coating. My only gripe with this pan is that I wish the lip or rim around the pan were a little taller. Since it is so short, I have lost some food here and there when trying to flip things or mix some scrambled eggs. So minus one star for that. Otherwise, this pan at this price makes sense for any home cook for basic cooking and light frying.
