Review on 🔧 DORMAN HELP! 42042 Master Cylinder Cap – Premium Quality Replacement Part for Enhanced Vehicle Performance by Vincent Burton

It's not like Dorman is known for their quality aftermarket parts. In my opinion it's a quick patch until you get an OEM or quality aftermarket replacement. Having said that, this is not an acceptable reason for the parts to be complete garbage. The first cap I ordered was a last resort. I bought a gasket and quickly noticed that the plastic was brittle, like old Bakelite. As soon as I screwed it on, the latches snapped, rendering it unusable. So I went to my local auto parts store and the OEM covers were out of stock. So I have to use the porter's hat again. I thought maybe the last cap was just defective and maybe this one would do. So I put a gasket on the cap and put it on top of the master cylinder reservoir. The same thing. Conclusion: This is absolute nonsense that doesn't even work if necessary.
