Review on πŸ”‹ DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Vacuum: Powerful and Portable Wet/Dry Cleaning Solution (DCV517B) by Mark Jefferson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good performance, uses standard Dewalt 20V batteries

Satisfied with the performance of this vacuum cleaner, anyone reporting no suction power must have a defective product or unrealistic expectations. Cons first: It's larger than a standard wireless device, but designed for a wider range of uses. It's a bit noisy for a cordless vacuum, but more importantly, it works. The bin is not as big as it should be and has a lip that catches small debris when emptying the bin. In many cases you have to turn it upside down and shake it. It would be nice if the sides of the container were straight. The filter is pretty big and good, but that means the pleats are pretty deep and trap a lot of dust. A really good filter cleaning can be a bit tricky without pneumatic tools, depending on the type of dirt shaking the filter will help remove a lot of it but it will get a lot of dust into the air. Make sure you do this outside of the client's website and make sure it's clean from the start. This model doesn't have a blower option, which would be nice. Best of all, it uses Dewalt 20V batteries. So if you have some for your tools, you're good to go. This means that, unlike most cordless vacuums, when the battery reaches the end of its life you don't have to throw the vacuum away, you simply get a new battery. The batteries are very good, unlike the cheap junk of some cordless models, and have enough power to offer powerful motorized suction in this relatively small body. It's larger than a typical cordless vacuum but works well with standard 1.25" nozzles, making it more versatile and good for cleaning stairs and hard-to-reach spots in vehicles. The battery lasts long enough even for larger jobs (>30 minutes standby). new packaging) to save time. As with all bagless vacuums, no matter what the manufacturer says, the cleanup is messy. Of course, keep the filter clean for best performance. Overall, this is a very portable device with very good performance. As it uses Dewalt 20V batteries it should be compatible with the new FlexVolt super capacity batteries. You'll empty the bin more than a dozen times before such a battery might drain 50 times. Still use a regular 20V spare battery. Probably more versatile and economical for most people. You need a small pouch to store them in. All in all this is a great little battery powered vacuum and a great addition to the Dewalt 20V system.
