Review on 🚵 Vicue ST-EF51 Set: 21 Speed Shifter Brake Lever Combo for Mountain Bikes by Quintin Boner

I installed this derailleur/brake lever set on my old Giant MTB last night. The quality control is terrible. There was a small piece of metal sticking out of the left switch when I received it that I had to file down. Similarly, the switch body port only had a metal cover/insert on the right switch; He was missing on the left. Once the V-Brake cable is connected, adjustment is extremely difficult as the metal tube adjusters have plastic threads. As a result, the kegs are very difficult to turn and due to the plastic thread there is a LOT of play. A little carelessness is enough to ruin those plastic threads and render the controller useless. After installing all the brake cables/sleeves, the levers seem a little flimsy/weak. Also, the handlebar lock is cheap plastic, so the lever flexes a lot under braking, and I predict this will soon lead to cracks in the lever or clamp. , again because of the plastic threads. With all the cables installed, the shifter itself seemed to work just fine. The long downshift lever feels a lot more reliable than the upshift lever. Overall I would recommend staying away from this product. I work with different bikes all the time and these are very poor quality components. Better save up for good, high-end Shimano/SRAM/Microshift shifters and brake levers that are built for durability and precision. For only $25, I'm leaving these Vicue shifters on my bike for now and will post an update if they break or new problems arise. I bought this product, I just needed the right switch. So today I finally installed the left derailleur on the new bike I am restoring. The ratchet broke after 5 uses. I was just trying to index the derailleur so it broke before I could even ride the bike.
