The picture quality is superb and the pens make any kid a better educated scientist. OVERALL My daughter and I had a lot of fun looking at various items from the 4 prepared slides (paramecia, buccal mucosa, NaCl crystals, pollen and various slides that we made ourselves). For a better experience, I recommend getting more tutorial slides as well as more new slides/companion slides. I strongly recommend this item. You pay a little more but it's worth it.
