Problem solved easily and inexpensively: I like to make my own iced tea and I make a large batch at a time. But when trying to use most funnels to pour into pitchers from a large pot, the funnels were too small to fit over the pitcher's lid. And pouring directly into the pitcher was inconvenient and messy. So it became a job for two people. Now I just slide it over the pitcher and it's wide enough to stay stable. I actually dip a smaller funnel in to make the tea flow slower. I'm sure I'll find a use for a wide mouth, but for now it was an easy fix to an iced tea problem.
