Review on πŸ”Š AOSHIKE TPA3116 100W Subwoofer Amplifier Board: Small Power Amp for Video & Audio Accessories by Tony Cohen

A real competitor for driver seat booster/driving sim haptic feedback/bass

I use these in my driving sim and originally bought them because I was using the game's sound as a source for haptic feedback. pushing the sound through a pair of Dayton TT-25 Pucks and a Buttkicker Concert Mini. You can tell by what they can do at low RPM with the kicker applied that they have great bass and you MUST use a subwoofer amp when using this setting as you want to filter out the higher noise. I was very happy with the result and they are more than capable of driving 2 ohm mini butkickers (too many) and 2 8 ohm Dayton washers in series (so a 16 ohm load). Other than that, I think it's a worthy alternative to the $150 buttkicker amp. This is a STEREO input but a MONO output. So if you're only sending MONO, split it up and send it to both channels or you'll only get half the volume. I've since switched to using telemetry software so frequency cutoff isn't that important and I'm a bit torn now doing more experimentation. It has the right power and great bass range, but you have more control if you use software like Simhub. I've found that to get the right punch from converters like the Aura 50W units, I need to change the effects settings. It would be really great if someone could figure out which capacitors to remove to turn off the high pass filter, because going past 180Hz, which I assume is clipped to around 300Hz, it would get even better. Since it can run all day without getting hot, it's the perfect candidate for this type of use that can really kick the amp up.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
