Review on CAFÉ BREW COLLECTION Borosilicate Whistling by Nick Owens

I had one of these Medelco kettles before the handle was changed and didn't like it at all. It was inconvenient to use and unless you put it on a very low fire the handle gets too hot. No longer! I broke two of my expensive (and overly fragile) blue handle top borosilicate teapots and couldn't find another design I liked that had a well designed handle that didn't get hot. After hours of searching I realized I didn't have many options so I decided to try again and I'm glad I did! The handle has indeed been redesigned and it doesn't get hot at all if I follow the directions for using lower heat and a smaller burner. (The old model still got hot despite these precautions, so I gave up.) I have a vintage stove and even decided I like this oven better with it. Add to that the super low price and I think this is a really good buy. One thing to note though, if you're looking for a 12-cup kettle this isn't it - it's more like a six. Maybe they use very small teacups to measure and don't take actual ounces into account? However, I am very happy with its size and consider it an excellent purchase in all respects.
