Review on Electric Cooktop ECOTOUCH Smoothtop CRAH774B by Mark Marcellus

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive and easy to maintain

I admit that the main reason for buying this hob was the price. I cook a lot and my whirlpool cooktop, which I loved the most, had a short circuit so I had to find something quick. I was amazed at how much cooktop prices had gone up, I paid about $350 for a hot tub that was now selling for $650. At a lower price than what I paid for my first one, this Ecotouch seemed too good to be true. Not. It was a perfect width fit, but was about 1-1/2 inches shorter in height. It was an easy fix, we just used an extension cord. The wiring wasn't really complicated, but we had my electrician do it. Uncle came and installed it just to make sure. Although we could probably do it ourselves. Very easy. The controls take a little getting used to at first, but I'm glad I no longer have to scrape food off the handles, which is definitely a plus - it's really easy to clean! These are great, but if you accidentally touch them, you can easily turn off the burner. Not just the touch of the fingers, but everything that touches them. THERE IS a control lock that you hold for 3 seconds to activate but if you even put a spoon on it it will unlock. If you have something more like a bowl on it, it's possible the device will unlock and turn off. This has happened to me many times, so my only advice is to keep the control panel clean while cooking. That. All in all this is REALLY good value for money if you are looking for a decent oven at a good price. I am very happy with it.
