Review on ORICO 250GB Chroma Mini Portable SSD - Read/Write Up To 540MB/S - USB3 by Jonathan King

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Seems to work (mostly)

Test run done, downloading thousands of pictures and music. Using the provided USB-B port (3.0 port) to USB-C and moving files from my PC to the SSD, I averaged around 150Mbps speeds. However, the connection is unreliable - as with some With previous hard drives, I have to avoid setup stutters where I have to queue up a lot of data to be transferred or I'll start crying later. It was a lot slower. with the cable that came with my phone - only 15Mbps but a bit more stable. Unfortunately, the included USB-C to USB-C cable didn't work with any combination of devices, ruining my dreams of simple OTG backups. I'll try Connector 3.0 later. It's only day one, so I can't speak to the accuracy yet.

Pros
  • Portable and lightweight – the compact size of 2.6 x 1.5 x 0.48 inches and ultra-light weight of around 27g doesn't take up much space. Portable SSD brings you great convenience. You can easily move from office to office, at home, in the dorm, on the street or wherever you want.
Cons
  • Socket required
