I've been driving my Pilot for YEARS without a working remote control. I pressed the lock or unlock buttons on my remote and nothing worked. I had to manually insert the key to open the door(s). It was very frustrating and inefficient to say the least. Well I finally did my research and discovered that the driver's door lock actuator acts as the "brains" or master unit for all other door locks. This option was a lot cheaper than OEM and once I got everything plugged back in it was a huge relief to be able to lock/unlock my car with the fob again! Installation wasn't the easiest (difficulty 3/5, mainly because you're working in a tight space), but it's doable.
