Imagine my surprise when I went to my laundry room and found it full of water from a clogged drain in front of my back door and flooding my house because my back door didn't fit tightly enough to the door frame below. The previous owners installed the front door. But how can I keep the storm door closed when it's the only way my two pug princesses can get outside to empty their tender bowels instead of using my kitchen floor? The storm door remains open. So I purchased this item hoping that my status as a single mom wouldn't prevent me from effectively completing a monumental renovation job. It arrived quickly and to my surprise was vinyl rather than metal. I must have read badly. After a month of delaying what would no doubt be another of my colossal renovation mistakes, I simply opened the package and got to work. It slid right onto my open door, so I made some marks with scissors where I needed to cut it. I got out the old tin snips I stole from my ex before I left him and went to work. You cut this thing like butter. But nothing with less weight would do the job as well. The kitchen scissors hardly cut. Even my gentle bookkeeper hands handled it like a pro. I put it back on, leveled it, closed the door, made sure it was as low as possible for the door, then I screwed every tiny screw into each hole with my Black and Decker Electric "Female" screwdriver - I was inside a delicate mood, no need to pull out the big dewalt. Every screw went through the door like butter. What a dream. The landing is sealed. I am so happy that there will be less cockroaches, spiders, mosquitoes and rain in my house now. This was my best purchase ever.
