This pigtail allows the user to install a replacement diode in the charging circuit of Cummins and other diesel vehicles. The charging circuit contains a protection diode that can fail after a few years, resulting in the engine not starting no matter what you do. This pigtail and a regular $5 diode will fix the problem and get you back to work. My friendly Freightliner dealer estimated the cost of parts and labor to fix the OEM issue at just over $300. I bought a second set of pigtails and diodes and carry them in my bus transition box.
