This is an all steel tool post set. The finish is all that I could ask for. The lock-up is reasonably smooth. This comes with a cut-off tool holder and for the first time I've been able to part steel on my lathe without chatter. I bought this for a 6" Sears/Atlas lathe and with the exception of the Morse taper holder all the adapters adjust to the Sears/Atlas center height which I had worried about. I had to slightly machine the base plate to match the Sears/Atlas compound T-slot. I'll probably fix the Morse taper adapter by taking 0.20"-0.30" off the top under the height setting nut. This tool post is a good fit for a 6" lathe.
