We don't have a lot of storage space, so when I get things for crafting, I prefer to get things which I can store pretty easily and don't take up tons of room. This kit is perfect.WHAT IS THIS LIKE?This kit has a small light board. It is enough to do a flip book though and small patterns to trace onto paper, or artwork.LIGHTPADThe light pad is small- A5 size. It has a power cable that is about 78 inches that you will need to have a USB plug to use. I got a longer cord to reach my outlet better. To turn this on, you press the power button once. If you want to turn it brighter, hold it down until it is the brightness you want. This is about the size of a tablet.FLIP BOOK MATERIALSThis comes with 300 blank drilled sheets which will be enough for several flip books. There are screws in 3 sizes for you to do a book as thick as you would like. If you make them thinner, you can make more of them. There are cover sheets so you can put them on front and back of your flip book. These are similar to a brown paper bag in thickness.HOW IS THIS TO USE?I have enjoyed this so far. It is best to start simple and look it up online. The instructions in this are very minimal. It is more fun to see what other people are doing first.THE BOTTOM LINEAlthough I should take a star off for lack of instruction and motivational ideas, this kit has all you need to start making flip books. It is easy to store and I can keep it in a tablet carrying case which is cushioned for protection as well as my materials in the outside pockets.MY RATINGAlthough I really want to give this four stars, it does contain what you need to start flip booking minus a lot of instruction. There is a tiny bit, but it is not great. I will leave this at five stars though. If you do a little research, you can have a lot of fun with this. As it is, you might find frustration or lack of motivation for whoever wants to use it, especially if it is someone young who needs ideas to get going.
