This is an addition to a previous evaluation that was made shortly after receipt of the goods. DO NOT buy this item! I have washed this item with soap and water and wiped with cotton. Hand towel. I filled it with cold tap water and let it sit for 24 hours as recommended. When I went to pour a glass of water, I found a significant amount of "junk" at the bottom of the pitcher. Since it was covered with a paper towel secured with a rubber band when seated, I could only conclude that the debris came from the liner of the pitcher. I poured out the water and repeated the "sitting" process throughout the day. or two. When I checked the smell and taste of the water it didn't seem like something I needed in my body. So I poured out the water and let the pitcher dry. A few days later I saw dark spots inside the glass which turned out to be the base metal to which the copper plate was no longer adhering. This glass is beautiful but essentially rubbish. Who knows what metal in this item will end up in your water. NEVER AGAIN - not from this seller! John
