My eyesight isn't the best and I needed more magnification to pluck and get rid of those pesky facial hairs that are more common than ever these days and when it comes to editing this mirror. I don't notice any distortion in the mirror. You see all of reality in the face and sometimes it's not so nice. I don't wear makeup so can't confirm anything, haven't had to use the lighted part yet but put it on to test once it arrived. It has two lighting settings and I could see pretty well in both. it's very easy. Easily disassembled for storage and travel. Delivery was quick. I can't say I have any cons as this mirror fully meets my needs. I chose electric over battery because batteries are sometimes difficult to use. I will recommend this to a friend.
