Review on πŸ”Œ Optimized for SEO: Metra 70-1727 Bypass Harness for 2006 Honda Civic Vehicles with Factory Amplifier by Aaron Johnson

Works perfectly and easy to install 2009 Honda EX with great sound

I bought a plug and play Android head unit for my 2009 Honda Civic. As expected, since my Civic EX comes with premium sound, there was no sound. (You know you have premium sound with a factory amp because "Premium Sound System" is printed on the front of the radio.) Prior to this kit, I attempted to connect the wire that turns on the factory amp by plugging it into the bind amplifier . new radio. Unfortunately, the audio worked as expected, but it amplified the already amplified audio, and above "Volume 4" the audio was distorted. So, this kit came in, did the usual soldering of the connections to the wiring harness, bypassed the factory amp and everything works as expected. As mentioned, I had too many cables - now I have some for other projects. To get to the amp, I simply pulled out the panels under my handset, unplugged the cable, left the amp in place, and plugged it in - it's that simple. I didn't have to detach or move the center console between seats. :-) A few notes: you lose your factory sub and front tweeters as these signal circuits are processed in the factory amplifier. I bought secondary speakers with tweeters and a secondary subwoofer to compensate for those frequencies in the music, so that wasn't a problem for me. If you are trying to use your stock speakers I think Metra or Scosche have an RCA kit for the standard Honda amp you will need to run the RCA from your radio and then connect it to the stock amp. It would be a better option than those with the stock speakers as the sound is a dirty mid-range with no high or low frequencies - unless you swap out the speakers for non-original ones like I did.
