Balance the batteries before connecting.
Missing information, hence only four stars. For those having trouble, make sure the two batteries are balanced and not at full capacity. Then charge the batteries through the BMS, then your BMS will work properly. I went through a bunch of them thinking they were all bad until I found some good documentation about them. They are designed to stop working if the batteries are too badly unbalanced.
