Very interesting device. The base is not high enough to view the object directly from above. You need to point it at an object at an angle. If you try to point it straight down, it will be too close to the base for the object underneath to be visible. I've tried putting it on the edge of a stack of books, but the stand is too light for it to fall over. The base needs to be heavier so it doesn't tip over. The stand should be higher so you can see objects directly from above.
