Emergency Equipment Required

After going through Hurricane Laura, I realized we needed to upgrade our emergency radio. We were still working on this, but it was ONLY a handheld radio. It's not just a radio, it has many more features in one small device. So it has a radio/weatherband function as expected (with 7 NOAA channels/stations). Everything else made me decide on this one. It has a 4000 mAh external battery. It's not much, but great for emergencies. It has an SOS signal. If we ever needed help, all we had to do was press a button. There is a flashlight with 3 different beam modes. All are very bright. There is even a motion sensor. Just flip the switch to the "Auto" position and if anything moves, the light will turn on. This is one of my favorite security features. It is not only suitable for emergencies, but also for camping, hunting and all outdoor activities. There are 4 power supplies.1. hand crank2. solar battery. Very slow charging but better than nothing3. USB. We never let it go below half and it took 3 hours to fully charge4. Li-ion battery. Good fuse and interchangeable. In principle, it loads more slowly, but after loading it works for a long time. We used it for a week and used half the charge even though we didn't charge our phone with it. However, in an emergency, it's nice to have something like an all-in-one that you don't have to lug around.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Bad Experience
