Don't be a sucker: Bearings and Seals

Wrong size ordered. Then I remembered that I had recently ordered a pair that I hadn't used (same brand) and they were the right size. At least that's what my caliper said. Tried it with a hammer, didn't help. Attempting to smash them in with a regular hammer using a block of ultra-high molecular plastic for protection didn't work. I tried making more bevel on the leading edge, it didn't help. I've tried tapping the armature directly and gradually hitting it harder and harder, didn't work! Damaged them so badly that the locking ring came out and shattered. I started to remember why they were on my shelf. YOU ARE TRASH! All you have to do is squeeze the grease into the bearings and seals and smear the grease over the wheels. Sounds good in theory, but not in practice. Be sure to do it the old fashioned way and stuff the bearings by hand. don't trust them (If you manage to put them on without destroying them) Just so you know, I'm not new to followers, I have five followers. Bearings replaced in all but one. Decided to put her on a small service trailer at the hunting club as it doesn't get much use or maintenance. Bad idea! Put on the regular dust caps. (They work!)
