Great 4K video but you need to buy a polarizing filter

I love the 4K images this camera produces but I think a polarizing filter is absolutely necessary to reduce glare. Given the price of this camera, I think a filter should come with the camera. After testing the camera, I had to buy a filter separately. The filter really made a big difference in the quality of the video. Setting up the camera software is relatively easy, and I love the feature that lets you disable audio recording if you want. The included power cord is long enough to run cords through the top of the windshield, under the headliner, down the A-pillar, under the weatherstrip, under the glove box, and through the center console of my GMC Acadia. Since the power cord is a standard USB cable, you can easily extend it if needed by purchasing another USB cable as an extension cord. but you probably don't need it. I don't use park mode so I just turned the camera on using the cigarette lighter/USB adapter that came with the camera. If you want to use the parking/motion sensor functions of this camera, you will need an additional wiring harness and the installation will be much more complicated. In addition to the polarizing filter, I strongly recommend that you buy a high-quality micro SD memory card. a card fast enough for 4K, capable of withstanding extreme conditions, and with enough capacity to store lots of video before old clips are overwritten. Don't skimp on the memory card, it's just as important as the camera itself! I decided to buy this one from Revain: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P4HBRMV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details. That works great. The installation kit contains two clear thin plastic sheets that you need to stick on your windshield and then use 3M mounting tape on it for easy removal. I personally just stuck the 3M film directly to the windshield as I think it's less likely to come off in the hot sun. Yes, when I pull the camera out I have to scrape the mess off with a razor blade, but I'd rather do that than have the camera fall off the windshield. Installation took a little while, mainly because I wanted to hide the power cord for a tidy installation. Alternatively you can use the cable clamps supplied with the installation kit to route the cable along the top of the windscreen but you will likely need more cable clamps than are supplied. Be sure to install the camera in a place where the wipers will clean the windshield in front of the camera! The ability to view video clips in the phone app is a great feature that can be very useful when you need to provide evidence. at the scene of an incident or accident. I personally prefer to use my home computer to play video clips on a big screen. It would be great if Viofo developed a custom windows program specifically designed to work with this camera as I have used third party programs with varying degrees of success. Using the highest settings on this camera produces excellent video, but some programs can't handle it, resulting in video stuttering during playback. It looks like the only solution is to shoot at a lower speed or resolution, but I did NOT buy a 4K camera for that. The best playback I found was one of the free media players for windows, but then you don't get details like GPS, speed, etc. C'mon VIOFO. You build a great little camcorder, now let us play it on computer with special media. Heck, I'm even willing to pay for it!
