Review on Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta 9 175/65 R14 86T winter by Jnis Kalni ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

If you live in an area with a true winter and/or commute long distances via peripheral routes or, in extreme circumstances, to the country, or if you work in the city and live in the region, then you absolutely need to make this purchase. If you rarely venture outside of the city limits—say, in Hong Kong, where the streets are kept pretty clean—a friction tire that is not studded might be preferable. After the fifth season (we'll see how long that takes) I may add a review.

Pros
  • Control in slippery conditions, in particular stopping and turning. Consistency regardless of the circumstances. It's also pointless to eat porridge if the bottom is slippery. Good lateral strength. Good for holding spikes. Someone here mentioned that they frequently separate; I find it hard to believe. There will be no losses if you run the 2t. re-balance km correctly (without trotting, of course) and maintain a speed of at least less than 20 kilometers per hour (km/h) during the summer. For the third year in a row, I've been behind the wheel. I've lost three spikes so far: two on one wheel and one on the other.
Cons
  • Harsh, I made sure to bring the 60th profile (summer on the 40th profile) and several other disks for the colder months, but they don't make it any easier on the body. Obviously noisy, particularly on dry roads; the rumble at 90 km/h is unpleasant; I had to create an extra Shumkov to deal with it. With 190 spikes on each tire, it's clear that miracles are out of the question. BUT when the true winter begins for her, she was made, these flaws are exposed. The rumble is barely audible, and the stiffness provides excellent command over porridge and patchy application.
