Review on Vitamix A3500 Brushed Stainless Blender by Kyle Pickett

better than nutribullet? for capacity only

Owned for two weeks, upgraded from Nutribullet with 32oz cup size, mainly because I wanted to make a 64oz smoothie instead of two separate batches in Nutribullet. The biggest difference, besides the price, is the amount of air bubbles mixed with vitamin C. it adds. Now I understand why vacuum blenders will revolutionize blending (they remove all the air before blending). Is it creamier than Nutribullet? Yes. Is it an advantage? depends what you like. Nutribullet didn't add all that air, and it would have been better if it was a little nuttier. (I add seeds) The thing is all the blender blades will dull and make the blender noisy. The great thing about Nutribullet is that the blades are around $15 and are replaced once a year as the mix is maintained and improved. (I've had my Nutribullet have this service regularly for the past 7 years). This Vitamix has an annoying moving icon that I can't turn off. The number keys are hard to see in the morning as they aren't backlit and I prefer tactile ones. I like how the blender starts out slow and then speeds up. this leads to a longer service life, since the gearbox is often shifted by the momentary high torque. The cleaning function is overrated as it doesn't clean the top of the blender very well.
