Review on Mallory 29859 Diaphragm Kit by Chris Ostby

I bought this to refresh my 4309 pressure regulator The instructions clearly state that it is compatible but it is not clear what to do with the spring on the original install it will at all not mentioned ! I tried to do with a spring and without an additional gasket according to the instructions with a gasket as in the photo. I only have full pressure, no adjustment. Tried the same seal configuration with no spring, same high pressure scenario. tried with additional seal (against the instructions) with spring, same high-pressure scenario. tried this with an extra shim, without the spring was a good setting but it didn't allow the vacuum to compensate, the pressure stayed the same with or without the vacuum applied. I just reassembled it with an old diaphragm/spring and it works fine and I will be returning this kit.
