Very useful product but Pyle Pro uses very cheap components. It tests any type of IN connection against any type of OUT connection. The matrix is very useful as it tells you which pin goes from IN to OUT where. HOWEVER: When testing cables such as 3.5mm TRS (headphone) to stereo RCA, the unit's response can be confusing. To properly test this type of cable, connect a 3.5mm jack to the INPUT and ONE end of the RCA to the RCA OUT. Make sure there is a connection, then disconnect the RCA and connect another to RCA OUT and check again. The device is also mislabeled. "SPEAKON" is written on the side where the banana jacks *should* go in. This is clearly wrong. Also, the banana plug section is utterly useless as the two terminals are not properly spaced to accommodate a pair and the device is too large to just plug one terminal lead into the device to test one side at a time. The assembly of the product is super sloppy. I had the device for about a month before something inside started rattling. I [partially] took it apart to get what was there. I found out it was a small nut holding part of one of the banana sockets in place (which is now lost forever). Luckily, I've already counted this as a loss (see above). In addition, the battery fell out of its plastic holder many times, which (of course) made it impossible to turn on. This only happens when the device is shaken slightly (equivalent to dropping from a height of 2 inches onto something hard). The battery can usually be reinserted by turning it over and hitting your arm. Overall, I would definitely buy this product again and even recommend it to friends. It has issues, but it's a cable tester and it does exactly that, and it does it well. It still saves me many very valuable hours setting up for shows.
