Review on Zassenhaus Frankfurt Olive Ceramic Pepper by Polo Bradley

Please DO NOT buy this pepper and salt grinder! look elsewhere

I've written maybe two reviews in my life because you usually get what you pay for, but this salt and pepper grinder is absolute rubbish. I bought a pepper and salt mill thinking that Zassenhaus would make a quality product that would meet their needs. I wanted this grinder because it claimed to be corrosion resistant and made mostly from natural materials so I could prevent plastic or harmful materials from getting into my food. Although the product was expensive for a salt and pepper grinder, I figured it would be of good enough quality to just grind salt and pepper and I would never have to think about it again. However, after 3 months of minimal use the pepper grinder became clogged and I had to take it apart to fix it and the metal parts of the salt grinder were rusting! I tried to return the product and it seems that the return period for the product has expired. Turns out I wasted about $70. For $70 I could buy a lifetime supply of pre-ground salt and pepper. I'm really upset with the company because it's not that I misused the product or that my particular grinder is just defective, it's that the materials and construction of this product are simply not made for a salt and pepper grinder. Let's hope the company retires its product or just goes bankrupt. Please don't listen to 5 star reviews. Most of them were written right after receiving the product, so they didn't have enough time to watch the mills rust. I bet most people haven't even checked to see if they're rusting.

Pros
  • The olive wood pepper mill has a beautiful wood texture so no two pieces are alike; Measures 7 inches tall
Cons
  • Very expensive
