I'm a bit disappointed in the rigidity of this harness. It's quite substantial, heavy and very stiff right out of the package, exactly what I was trying to avoid. There is padding but I'm worried about the strap that goes between the front legs, it's padded but the padding is stiff and hits the inside of my dogs legs at the "arm pit", fairly certain she'll be rubbed uncomfortably until it's broken in which will make her hate it.I had to adjust the large size out to the largest it would go for the chest. My dog is a 55-60 lb border collie/"big dog" mix and does have a thicker coat. I've thrown it into the washer with some jeans to see if that will soften it up. Not thinking it will but worth a shot.
