This grip is slightly shorter than other replacement parts (smaller than the lever) but costs less. I used it to replace a 4 lb hammer. It comes with two wedges, one metal and one wooden. I used a wooden wedge with a few drops of wood glue for extra security. It took a few minutes of hand sanding to get the oval hole to fit nicely. The grip was a little rough, but a few seconds of hand sanding smoothed it out. I believe it was originally my grandfather's hammer and the handle fell apart, a new handle should last at least a few more generations. Definitely recommend and buy again.
