There was an old hammer in the garage that weighed 2.5 pounds. I finally felt the need to use it, so I decided to replace the grip rather than buy a new one. The local warehouse didn't have one so I decided to take a look at Revane and saw this one. The handle was too wide for the hole in the hammer head, but it was easy to scrape off a few layers to get it right. The head is set and the hammer is used regularly, the handle seems to be handling the load well. Overall, I'm glad I decided toβ¦
The shape of the head and shank of the handle is well carved. It went into the metal head of my hammer drill with no problem. It came with wedges to expand the shank for a secure fit. It was too small for my sled head. I made a mistake trying to use it and broke the handle while driving the wedge. second problem. I learned the hard way what a good pen looks like. A few criteria are that the wood grain follows the handle and is the same color throughout. It failed on both counts. Guiltyβ¦
