Our 10 year old GE Side by Side Fridge Freezer started dripping very little water and dripped down the freezer door from the lower center front panel around the water and ice dispensers around down . I thought it was condensation, which it basically was, but the source of the condensation is this damper. Over time, the rubber damper hardens and allows some warm room air to flow up and between the damper and the freezer compartment, allowing condensation to form and drain away. Keep in mind that a weak magnet opening and closing the damper can also cause the same symptom, but in my case the damper fixed the problem. Make sure you clean the area where the new flap meets the freezer compartment so it fits snugly.
